Volunteer for AsylumConnect! 

We are looking for two types of volunteers: 

  • Catalog Volunteers (individuals who live in the cities where the AsylumConnect catalog is operating). *Currently, recruiting for volunteers living in Seattle, Washington. 
  • Translators (individuals who are fluent in any language other than English).

  • Everyone living in Seattle is welcome to apply for these positions! 
  • Time commitment for these positions is flexible (based on the schedules of our volunteers)! 


Interested in helping us pilot the AsylumConnect catalog 2.0 in Seattle? Become a volunteer for AsylumConnect! Our volunteers in Seattle will help to spread the word about the AsylumConnect catalog among LGBTQ asylum seekers and relevant service providers in the Seattle area. Assist with all phases of our pilot such as local outreach, interviewing catalog test users (via Google Hangouts, Skype or email), spreading the word among relevant service providers, etc. In this role, you will help us to collect valuable data for our pilot case study and make sure our catalog is as useful as possible. 

Are you fluent in a language other than English?       Sign-up to translate for AsylumConnect on an as needed basis. 

  • All of the following positions are unpaid at this time.  
  • Anyone who is fluent in a language other than English is welcome to apply to be a translator. 
  • Time commitment for translators is on an as needed basis. 
  • Especially looking for the following languages: Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese, Swahili. 


Our translators will help to ensure that our informational resources remain as accessible as possible. Sample translation assignments include: infographics, brochures, flyers, and text for our website. In this role, you will be asked to translate for us on an as needed basis.
